Hi there...

I was in the process of rebuilding my pc:

Athlon Thunderbird 900
KT7A-RAID (BIOS 3R/VIA 4.32)
Crucial PC133 512 mb RAM
VisionTek GeForce 2 Ultra 64 mb (Detonator 3)
SB X-Gamer Live! 5.1
Maxtor 60 GB Hard Drive
Pioneer DVD 106S
Philips PCRW80 8x4x32 CD-RW
Windows 98 Plus!
MagView VM900E 19"

I had successfully loaded Windows, the video card, the sound card & the network card. I was then in the process of loading the Highpoint driver. After installing the Highpoint driver...the system rebooted & once Windows 98 started back up, I got the Fatal Exception OE error message. I think there may be a problem with the IRQ on my machine...but I am not sure. Any ideas on how to remedy this problem?

Thanks...

Kawika

It's not the IRQ's fault, there's some serious bugs in the new HPT driver. My friend had this problem over the weekend installing the KT7-R board. Your safest bet's to reinstall a older driver through Windows Safe Mode.

This is the v1.0.2 driver, very stable and realiable. Get into safe mode, unzip the driver, get into device, select the bastard highpoint driver under the SCSI group, do a update driver, select specific location twice, and search for the folder where you unzipped the driver, and force the system to update from v1.0.2 driver. Reboot system, and you should be set.

Man, who the hell made these new drivers? They are buggy as hell.:hhead:
