Be aware, there is a Virus going around pretending to be a Quake4 demo. This is an Internet worm which carries a file-overwriting payload. The file name of this worm suggests that it is a demo of the Quake4 game, but it is not. This is a couple of days old but with all the gamers we have here I thought all should be aware. If you want to know more about this virus go here (http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.eira.57344@mm.html). Damn, back to the AV update site again, twice in 3 days.

Good stuff Zams, forewarned is forearmed.
What AV proggie you using? I'm using OnTracks' Fix-It Utilities 4.0 who provide regular updates. Seems to work OK, when I installed it, detected a virus and got rid of it. Haven't suffered one since, from about 4 months ago.

I'm using Norton AV2002, it will check for new definition files every time you connect to the web but I have that feature disabled. I have too many programs that want to do that, so I run their live update every other day or so manually. Cross my fingers on this one, I've had 1 virus in the last three years, Norton caught it on a dl'ed web page and put it in quarantine so I could clean it out & delete.

Yes, Norton has saved me twice. Once when I swear I got one from a Microsoft webpage. IT at work informed me that there is a new 'screensaver' virus out there. I got three e-mails of it at work, but then I don't open emails that say 'HI'. I also don't use screensavers as it slows down UD. It's just as easy to turn the monitor off when I leave for a long time.
