Hey!

Do any of you have any experience with wireless network?
I need a broadband router and thought I would combine this with a wireless network at the same time.
I don't want to drag 15-30m of cable in the apartment.
11mbit is not the same as 100mbit but the broadband connection I'm getting is only 600-700kbit, so it really doesn't matter.

Any suggestions on which brand I should go for?
I've looked at D-Link DI-713P and Linksys BEFW11S4.
The price is about the same as far as I can tell.

Do you guys know of any good webshops which ships internationally?

I'm weighing towards the linksys solution, so if anyone has any good webshops which ships internationally, LMK :D

if they do ship internationally make sure the power requirments are compatible with the power systems of your country. There are some that wont work in other countries. I know the US uses 115v single phase but much of Europe uses 208v three phase. There are also some systems that use 50hz instead of 60hz. The hertz issue is a biggie if the gear cannot handle it.

Just a heads up.

And your DSL may only be 600-700kbps but keep in mind you also use the network for file transfers between machines. That is wehre you notice the biggest difference tween 10Mbps and 100Mbps. I know I do.

Hm.. I guess it's safer to buy the router here in Norway,
but the pc-cards and usb-thingie is the same.

Thx for the heads-up... didn't think of the voltage difference, silly me..

I did a hook up of Linksys Wireless and Apple Airport, respectively, a couple months back, for sharing broadband. Airport's slightly faster. But Linksys is easier to setup. Go to gamersdepot.com They have a review on Linksys hub which is pretty good IMO, and the reason why I got the Linksys over DLink.
