I know you all will have a laugh at this, but I cant figure out how to set the numlock key at startup, and its bugging the hell outta me.
When I first installed xp, it was always on after boot, now for some reason its always off.
I WANT IT ON DAMMIT :grr: Im one of those people that uses the numpad and have a lot of proggies set up for it.
p.s. it has always been on in bios, but when the desktop comes up, it turns off, so I figure its an xp config issue.

This should work for ya Prod, open the registry editor:

Key: [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard]
Value Name: InitialKeyboardIndicators
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: 0 = NUMLOCK off, 2 = NUMLOCK on

If your value is 0, it needs to be set to 2. If it's already at 2, then I'm stuck for now.

Press the NumLock key to turn it on ... restart your computer and it should stay on.

Win 2000 did the same thing ... don't forget XP IS W2k with bells on.
