Distributed case

the wired listed today about a distributed computing case that touched alot out there, about the man in Georga that installed RC5 on his college computers. in the story (http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,49961,00.html) he is let off with a minor fine, alot smaller than the one he faced. I just hope that all out there just get permission to use what isn't there.

One of the arguments made by the prosecution was that since there was a prize for the winner, it was to a degree computer theft (or something like that) not a problem with UD unless you enter into out competition.
