well while waiting for my array to finlly show up, I wanted to throw win98 on the box so I can UD, well I can't. Fdisk won't remove it, and I really am stumped. What can I use to remove it and use this disk for UD?

i gotcha man
its a progy from tjm4fun i call it the hard drive killer, erases your boot sector completely, then you can re fdisk it however you want, use this progy with extreme extreme cation, don't leave it on a boot disk for someone to see what it does, anyway just make a 98 boot disk boot it up and run the progy, i have to get it one sec. lurch

just wanted to say that the file in the zip is a com file, its smaller than most of the smileys on this forum and it can be extrememly useful, everyone feel free to download it, it will only take a second. sinc. lurch
edit, when you use it, just rem your boot sector is very small you run it from the command line and it goes right to the next command line, when i first did it i didn't think anything happened. but it works, sinc. lurch

I use "Maxblast +" it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but I like it.
"Maxblast +" (http://www.maxtor.com/products/DiamondMax/software/maxblast/default.htm)
Has some nice "tools".

Are you talking about LILO being difficult to get rid of?
To do this all you need to do is "FDISK /MBR"
This will get rid of LILO from the Master boot record.

Hey Tim is right.. Fdisk /mbr (Master Boot Record). Will do the trick. I learned that from reading my LInux manual!
HOpe it works out.
