There's a good article over at The Register (http://www.theregister.co.uk) with some early info on what we can expect in the first proper service pack for Windows XP (despite MS referring to one of the major security hotfixes as "SP1" I think this one is the real thing).
Details are somewhat thin on the ground at this stage but the service pack appears to be being used to implement some support for some of Microsofts new baby technologies along with some of the changes the US DoJ has forced upon the software giant.
