Look what UPS delivered today. First impressions: nice packaging, nice plastic case, nice cables, and monster capacitors.

Don't want to kill the bandwidth, so go to the site below for some more pics.

Now if OCsystem would just deliver my damn memory :cryol:

Sweet, report back when you take the snooch to the nooch... I mean FSB to the max. And OMG, those are some huge silver capacitors. Damn, sweet cables, too bad I'll use my round ones. But the cable ties and racks are sweet additions.

Well, I took the stock nb cooler off and put on my Zalman that I just finished lapping. Check it out:

I really don't know why motherboard manufacturers even bother with the thermal paste on the nb. Like this amount of paste would do anything

And of course, here is the Zalman installed........sweet :D

That is Ohhhh so sweet 0-60, a fine job on the lapping!!!! The old NB goop is really a joke, what a shame. Keep us posted, what's going to go in the big cream colored socket, XP2100?

Damn, that's some good as lapping. can I get the steps of grid you used for the process?
Yeah, those Abit bastards ran out of money for tooth paste. My MSI mobo's NB is covered with a really thick layer of white paste.

That cream colored socket is gonna get my existing 1.4 AYHJA Athlon for now :(. I'm gonna see what happens with the thoroughbreds before I get another processor.

AS,
You snuck in under me. I used some rough stuff to knock the anodized black finish off, then I used 600, 1000, 1500, and last 2000 :eek2:
It's probably a little extreme and you can probably jump a few grits, but this was only my second lapping, so I'm no expert.

Damn, 500 increments. Well, my local stores don't have anything beyond 400, so I'll have to shell out $25 to get a few of each grid online for some NB and GPU sink lapping action. Thanks for the info.

AS,
I got my sandpaper at an auto parts store. They usually carry sleeves of about 5-10 sheets. Not too much money either.
James,
Thanx.

Looking good. Nice job with the lapping, needs a little patience to do eh?
Those are big caps, should make things nice & stable.
I'm watching with interest here, as I'd really like one of those boards, but by the time I can afford it there will probably be something else out :(
Actually they've just come down a bit in price over here, hmmmmmm :D

Thanx Lurch.
Flops,
Still waiting on the ram, but I'll keep you posted. OCsystem took 4 days to ship my ram. And since they're in Cali, I won't have it until the 15th :cryol:
I'm sure this board will come down in price even more now that the KT333 is out. I couldn't wait and when I saw the board at Mwave for $136, I said what the hell.
I really wanted the NV7-133 which is the nforce board, but that wasn't available yet. Not to mention, we'll still have to see how it performs.

It's not :(. I won't have any time to play with my new toy until Tuesday :cryol:
I have a major exam and can't risk something going wrong and taking too much of my time. I promise I'll give you an update ASAP.
As far as the processor, I'm gonna use my 1.4 for now until the T-breds come out, then we'll see :D.

I will be installing my new mb tomorrow and was wondering if anyone wants me to run some benchies. I can do a comparison of my KT7A-R to the KR7A-133R.
I was planning on running the following:
SS Sandra (mem, hd, cpu, etc....)
QIII timedemo
ATTO
3Dmark 2001
I am swapping out my board and memory. Everything else is staying the same. BTW, I have a 1.4 AYHJA, ignore my sig :D.
LMK before tommorow afternoon so I can start testing.

Those four benchmarks are fine for me. How about Running them at 133FSB and then run them at highest FSB possible to complete?
Hey Tekheads...how about some input...this could be a nice article for BBF that 0-60 is gonna write :)
