Heres a little download from the Microsoft site.
bootvis (http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/platform/performance/fastboot/default.asp?FinishURL=%2Fdownloads%2Frelease%2Easp%3FReleaseID%3D35698%26ar ea%3Dsearch%26ordinal%3D3%26redirect%3Dno)

Traces several things through the boot cycle from shutdown to restart of the analyzer, saves to a .bin file. Gives a total time for boot.
Gives a separate graph for:
-boot activity
-cpu usage
-disk usage
-driver delays
-creation of processes

Gave me a com error and didnt restart the program after boot, so I had to reopen it manually.

Helped me find out the process for my scanner initialization was giving me an 80 second delay.

was horsing around with this beast today. nice tool. God only knows what its doing or how it works.

But anyway I learned the fun way that "Automatic Task Scheduling" has to be on for bootvis to do an optimization. I'd shut it down a while back.

Also you must do a trace before and optimization can work....
