I have just been speaking to an ex employee (Aus office). I asked her is the PCs at her new job were running UD. I have attached a small section of the MSN chat... Please try not to over react as I did... I had to cut the rest of the conversation as it was unsuitable for public consumption.
There must be many more people out there with the same dim view? Never mind....

Bleh?
Now calm down, and explain a little more fully what she said. If it continued in the same vein as it started, you're dealing with a certifiable moron. Pity her, but have mercy on us and give us a little more detail. I'm intrigued by the way this started out . . . .

JD: You'll be surprise how ignorant most people are when it comes to a subject they've never ventured into. Maybe the lady is a loner who never had the experience of watching a close relative die of caner, or maybe she's just a jerk. What can you do? Convince her running UD will help cure cancer? That if some day she gets breast cancer there will be faster and painless treatment? Let is go JD, some people are just beyond help. As long as we know TeamPC's fighting cancer, screw the witch.

Probably more a case of her not understanding distributed computing projects - she probably thought it was some very, anoraky, geeky project - she probably totally missed the point. JD did you explain to her the relevance of it later on in the coversation.
I have yet to come across anybody who says cancer research is a waste of time - so I figure this is a misunderstanding..... but then I could be wrong - over to you JD, what happened in the coversation later, or was that it?

....Well..
After I had ranted a bit (a lot actually) I explained what it was all about. Basically she was sceptical but later it became obvious that her comments had irritated be and she was embarrassed by that fact. She is a very proud person and rather than apologise she just shrugged it off saying that her boss would never allow it. I have left her chewing the fat....
JD.
PS - For a stubborn, IT Aussie chick she is top totty :D

Let me know if you want some cancer causing agent samples. We'll make 'em empty their bank account to buy UD crunchers :stoner: ... damn, you mean I'm not in PM.
