View Full Version : Would you like to have IRC integrated Chat at BBF ?

Question: Would you like to see a Jpilot integrated IRC chat client for this board? This would give you the ability to use IRC chat thru BBF, and link to our #bitbender channel on IRC. You would need no additional software, and there would be no costs to you.

Before I go and code the durn thing up, what say yee ??

I voted yes based on IAs enthusiasm and It would be something else for me to learn about having never "chatted" outside of BBF. :)

Ambivelant about it. I like mIRC and have finally got it figured out for the most part. I have seen IRC coded into the sites before and it does go flaky now and than and boots off all who are on at the time. tis funny to watch the cascading boots though.


Didnt vote either way. I see pro's and con's both ways. Will it affect performance of the main page?

if your doing it simply to rise to the challenge than what the hell go for it.

I voted yes so the folks who doesn't know/run mIRC can have that option on BBF. I on the other hand can live w/o it in Java format, as I use the one in Trillian. Sweet. STFU mango, quit taking cheap shots at my NYC bros.

A chat interface thingy would really be nice. I don't get to talk to enough of the members here in real time.

I think it would be nice to use. I have MSN Messenger with only 2 people on it - which I haven't used since last year...sigh. Gets lonely most of the time. :cryol:

Current IRC is on DALnet: US,VA, Wombat #bitbenderforums, I just popped in, Johnnybra was hanging around there all on his ownsome :)

IRC chat is on Dalnet. IT does NOT have to be the Wombat server in Virginia. In fact I usually log into the Kuala Lumpar Dalnet server.

All the DALnet servers are interconnected. You do not need to be on one specific server just on the right network, in this case DALnet.

It's in Beta right now, boys and girls... Im only waiting to get the lic code from jpilot to turn it loose. Then look in the welcomebox in the main forum category page - the http://www.bitbenderforums.com/vb22/images/top_forums.gif right beside the "View Private Messages", you will see a link called BBF Chat .

Figgure 3/28/2002 for the initial rollout !

I entered the chat room twice but was feeling lonely in there not finding anyone to chat with.

Is it possible to know beforehand as to how many people are in there before one clicks on "BBF Chat". Nothing fancy but indicating no of people in there??? Well what do you say??
