Looks like smooth sailing with MS's 64 bit support.

Hampered by the fabrication process and architecture, AMD’s K7-core processors have had difficulty competing with Intel’s P4s in both the OEM and clone markets. Now, AMD hopes to gain more strength for the competition with the higher specifications offered by the new K8 processors.

Geez Pat, doesn't sitting on the fence get a little uncomfortable? LOL. I'm glad to see MS embrace the K8, now if only AMD can get their arse in gear and crank out some processors.

It's about time! After all, some of us only upgrade if there is a new number suffix! :D K6 for family, K7 for me. Now I can add a K8 and retire the K6!
