I got Z/A running on my puter. I have all my sliders up so security is tight. The only thing is keep getting this warning:

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services could not accept a(n) UDP Port 1900 connection from 10.24.142.171 because local servers are blocked.

User:
Program: Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
Time: 18/05/2002 09:53:08

and :

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services could not accept a(n) UDP Port 3033 connection from 10.24.252.161 because Internet servers are blocked.

User:
Program: Generic Host Process for Win32 Services

I have blocked it, everything seems to be running ok. But the damn thing keps flashing!:?:

Should i have allowed this service? If i should have how do i go back and allow it, as its not giving me any options apart from telling me the alert! I have searched the help files and even looked at tutorials.
I was so used to Norton F/W, that was easy to configure!:goog:
I dont know if i can stick with Z/A, Although i hear alot of peeps use it on BBF. Is it just me:?: :eyes:
:rasta:

EDIT// im using XP :?:

I can't help you directly, but those are private intranet addresses. They aren't routed over the Internet. It would have to be someone on your DSL network or your own private LAN.

If you would like to do some reading here is a good FAQ. It's a bit old but still a good read (for some of us).

http://www.robertgraham.com/pubs/firewall-seen.html

Anything in these ranges are all Private addresses:

10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255

172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255

192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

I am told that most hackers don't mess around in their own backyard as it's too easy to get caught. Could be the ISP pinging you. You could always ask them.

Your running Win2000 or XP, yes?

It is quite ok to allow Generic Host Process for Win32 server access. Yep, allow full access, it is necessary for the above OS to have this access to function at its best.

The thing is flashing right now in my task bar!:eyes:

Big question ???

How do i allow it now? I have looked all through Z/A and cant find a way to permit!

Im also confused with giving things server staus:?: Im a bit wary of that:blackeye:

Vix,

There isn't anything that really needs server rights, other than when you do file transfers using the MSN IM.As far as the Host,it should be listed under your programs. If it's not, just wait until it pops up again, then check remember this in the box ok :D

P.S.If the Host is listed in programs, just put a check in allow connect !
