Researchers have developed a "super-size" disc that is capable of holding 100 gigabytes of data. It will be re-writable and can be played in your dvd drive. The achievement comes by using "near-field" optical technology, according to the science council. That's enough to store 20 of your favorite movies, or 150 CDs of your favorite songs.

What surprises me is that Ritek is the same company which was penalised by Philips sometime back for producing illegal CD-R's and selling them. Now this very company will have its own patents and probably the situation will be completely reversed!

Few years later who knows it could be Ritek penalising Philips!
