Did I get your attention?
EVOLUTION ROBOTICS, a start-up backed by Pasadena, California-based technology incubator Idealab, unveiled this week what it calls a “personal robot system” — essentially a robotic framework centered on a laptop computer.
you can "teach" the robot to fetch things and it has the ability to get what you have shown in the the past. It identified a can out of 3 in a demonstration and brought the can half way back, but the arm let the can slip on the floor.(pre-production arm). Hmm looks like I don't need the missus around anymore :P you can find the article here (http://www.msnbc.com/news/757076.asp?0si=-)
