... don't belittle yourself that is just the sort of help me, and I think Flopps, need.
Thought I would start a new thread. :D
I lost my 10gig Linux drive, had to sell it, but I will be using a 20 and re-installing today. I do not expect any problems (famous last words) as the previous installation went without a hitch. Well all I did was press the "next" button so I shall do the same again. :smirk:
Thanks again for the help.

Thanks Mucks, glad to be of any help whatsoever. Well a 20gb is nice especially since your using SuSe as I have always heard that it comes with a truckload of programs. Good luck with the new install.
hallelujah, praise the "next button"!!! ;)

Well that took a little longer to install ... one must be very careful in how one types in a "password". I must have pressed two keys at once and had to re-install. :D
This installation from SuSE is very good as it finds all my hardware, even the Memorex burner, and for safety uses a "boot disk" on a floppy. I like that bit, SuSE sees that I have an OS already installed and recommend booting with a floppy. Yes you can install the boot loader to any HD. :D
I tried again to install StarOffice and again the system froze.
 However, I had downloaded a NEW Office program, Hmmm, I cannot remember its name, anyhow, after 45 minuets trying to figure out how to copy this 69m Zip file to a folder on the HD and unzip it, I'm ready to install.
The installation script froze the computer ... had to hit the reset button. :grr:
Tomorrow is another day ... see you then. :Tong:
