View Full Version : Serial ATA is coming your way

The earliest Serial ATA "format" will be "Ultra SATA/1500" having a max of 1500Gbits/s (~ 187.5MB/s). In the future, it might speed up to 6000Gbits/s.

Currently, 3ware has a card, the Escalade 7C80 which allows a conventional HD to be converted and plugged into the Serial ATA port. Below is a photo of the converter that converts ATA interface to Serial ATA.

Looks like it is a matter of time board manufacturers will incorporate all these on board.

it's really going to be good. DFI is realeasing a motherboard with serial ata built in. Going to be good, alot easier to route them wires.

I wonder what the price of that little sucker will be,I suspect at least to start out,it will be plenty :D
