Mucks,
GK is referring to the large square box on your desktop, which you stare into when your are logged on to BBF:D:D:D
As for those who need to calibrate their monitors, we have two threads which has a lot of helpful info:
Monitor prob (http://www.bitbenderforums.com/vb22/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30681&highlight=Monitor+prob)
Monitor Diagnostics (http://www.bitbenderforums.com/vb22/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40236&highlight=Monitor+prob)
GK, hope this helps

G_K: i think i know what your getting at. Are you asking how you go about setting the correct brightnes and contrast levels for a monitor? If so, let me know cus i have a guide which explains the proccess. I'd post it anyway but i'm in the proccess of moving my stuff from uni to home and no longer have any idea where things are.
