I wonder if this new orb is built with 1 or 2 parts to it, the blorb worked on a lot of applications but I felt it would have been better if it would have been a 1 piece design for more efficient thermal transfer. The cover might even force more air out the sides to take more heat away. What are they calling it IA?

Thermaltake have added to their already popular line of video card coolers and the new Crystal Orb looks to have the goods. Not only does it look fantastic but it uses copper as the base material but is also nickel plated. Here are the detailed specifications:

Fan Dimension: 50x50x15 mm
Rated Voltage: 12V
Started Voltage: 7V
Rated Current: 0.16A(Max.)
Power Input: 1.92W
FAN Speed: 5500±10% RPM
Air Pressure: 4.1mm- H2O
Max. Air Flow: 12.4CFM
Noise: 26.4dBA
Bearing Type: Ball Bearing
Lift Time: 50,000 Hours
Connector: 3 Pin
Base Material: Copper Base with Nickel Plating

Yes, I've been nicked by the damn Blord several time. Took the skin right off. Ouch.:D

My guess is its a 1 piece design since they've show they're capable with the Orange Orb. Just my speculation.

That thing would look sweet as a mobo chipset cooler.

I know that a high surface area heatsink like the Zalman is all that is needed, but there's just something cool about having a fan, ya know? 8)

Time for me to beg, grovel, and sell my soul to Thermaltake once again for a review unit. :p
