other that being expensive, is this a good cooler? how can I find out if this fits my mobo I am getting, would the motherboard site have dementions? I figured quad deltas would cool good, but is it worth the money. It's 40 bucks for one without the fans. what do you think and if not what HSF should I get that dosen't require to be bolted to the mobo (I can't use an alpha :()

Muckshifter I believe has a Kanie Hedgehog and as I remember he's really pleased with it. It's had good reviews, often coming around third or fourth place against bolt down coolers.

Is $40.00 that expensive for a decent cooler? taking into account our currency differences, I'd say it seems like a medium priced cooler to me.

I'd go for it. There are, of course, lots of other alternatives (SK6 for instance) but if you like the look of the Kanie, I'd say yes.

Just wondering, what mobo you intend to use it with?

Most motherboard manufacturers websites give dimensions, I'd check it out.

Not sure if I'd fancy twin deltas without a set of ear muffs :D

Looking at the pic, the two capacitors on the right hand side look a little too close for comfort.

It's easy to measure the dimensions of a Socket A socket, I'm assuming you have one there :D, measure that and then perhaps check out the base dimensions of the Kanie?

Edit: I just took another look, it's a dualie innit? You gonna need two (Big award for obvious statement of the year).

Looks like the AGP slot, the riser board(if thats what it is) and the northbridge HS will get in the way of that.

Just get your self a pair of alphas or 2 SK6s and stick a pair of 92mm fans on them, sorted.

the voltage regulator is only for CPU0, to adjust that, but you can adjust both CPU's if unlocked'''this is from the manual which had no reference on if I have anyroom for my hogs. I know that it will be close with the AGP port and that is noted, might have to settle for dual SK6's:cryol:

Gonna agree with what MD said, either you get a pair of SK6, or get a drill and make holes for a pair of Alphas. For that kind of noise, I'm not even going to reiterate how BAD this big piece of junk is.:growl:

The review at amdmb (http://www.amdmb.com/article-display.php?ArticleID=123&PageID=3) gives it equal temps as the sk6 with 2 of the same fans, so I would just go sk6. Costs less and takes less space.

In my opinion that "twin" HS is just plan stupid. If they cannot reduce your temps with the copper alone then they need to go back to the drawing board. For that matter why have the copper HS, just stick them wind tunnles on the dia.

I do indeed have an all copper Hedgehog and I am very pleased with it indeed ... full load, in summer, has always been under 40c, that is on a 1gig T'Bird.

Get one/two of these ... :D
