New Monitor

I have a new 17" monitor that I need to configure . It is listed in XF86Conf.-4, but the available resolutions are not. How do I add them so that I can change resolutions on the fly?

I am using Mandrake 9.1, and I have used XFdrake to add the monitor. However, I only have 800x600 and 640x480 available using Ctrl-Alt + or -.

I put the resolutions in and restarted X. It now works, except it does not adjust to the screen size. Is there a fix for this, or do I use the monitor's controls each time I change. I am going to attach a copy of my config file.
