Asus A7N8X Deluxe on board sound

For those of you who were wondering-
while the sound is fair for "onboard", it doesn't measure up to a good sound card.
I used the same set of speakers for comparision purposes.
My Philips Acoustic Edge 5.1 kicks the onboards' ass.

I agree LP,tried the same thing using the same card.The onboard would be better than nothing,but can't compare to a good sound card IMHO :hat:

I had the SB x-gamer on my other rig. I like the Soundstorm much better.
To each their own I guess.

I agree that the onboard sound isnt too hot. I've just built a PV with the ASUS board and the sound is much less crisp than with the previous PCI sound card. There was also alot of hissing when the PC booted up. It seemed to stop when entering windows, as if the drivers had kicked in and configured the onboard card.
