Linux Mint 15 is the most ambitious release since the start of the project. MATE 1.6 is greatly improved and Cinnamon 1.8 offers a ton of new features, including a screensaver and a unified control center. The login screen can now be themed in HTML5 and two new tools, “Software Sources” and “Driver Manager”, make their first appearance in Linux Mint. It looks to me like Mint is moving even further away from Ubuntu.

This touches on lots of subjects but it pretty much sums up why I like Mint and am currently using Version 14.

Primarily, for me, it's about the commercialisation of certain Distros and the fact Mint has stayed a desktop OS for desktop users rather than trying to pander to this obsession with touch screens and tablet devices.

The article: http://www.techradar.com/news/softwa...s-1146584#null

Critics and cynics amongst you may think the article perhaps gushing, synchophantic and maybe patronising but still, imo, worth a looksee.

Just a No and closing it as resolved and wontfix is bad attitude.
no wonder why gnome deserves the flak.

From bugzilla.gnome.org where the discussion continues on from there.

All they have to do is just move on to another DE. There's MATE and Cinnamon if they really have to stay in the Gnome world.
