    3DMark 2001 Record

For the time being, at least. VR-Zone has tweaked and modded their way to a 3D Mark 2001 score of 11,199! There are lots of preparation to be done before you can get this insane score.

    The CPU mods:

"CPU is XP1800+ (1533MHz) from week 40 and it did 1740Mhz at 1.85V aircooled. To run 3DMark at 2035MHz I had to increase Vcore above 2.0V and cool the chip down. The test is run at Vcore of 2.13V and I'm using custom made R404 (-45°C) waterchiller to keep the antifreeze cool. Antifreeze temp is usually at -25°C to -35°C."

    And the video card:

"Here's my modded GeForce 3 with custom made water cooling. With the help of this cooling and increased GPU/MEM voltage I can overclock the card up to 310/680MHz. This test was done at 305/670 for maximum stability."

I can't believe this has actually been posted around the web as actual news.

Now when is someone from here going to do that? (Don't look at me hard enough time to get one to work at stock speed)

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

I've got the time but not the skills for that. That score of 11,199 is just insane, I wonder just how long a rig like that could run with that much juice before coming apart. It certainly is an interesting experiment though.

to be honest, I think he would have to cool the entire board. All them volts running true it can't be all that good vapor chill the whole board.

11,000 is insane alright, my 3dmark with my gf3 is around 5500 but that's running my board at default with my 850 tbird. There is no way that rig will hold together for a long period of time IMHO.
