    thumb up Photoshop 7

Just got back from a preview seminar/training class for Photoshop 7. Very cool stuff. I realized I know and use less than 80% of the features in Photoshop. Must learn more...

Anyhow I think some of the new automation features will be the best things about the upgrade. I can see a lot of usage for them for some types.

And for those who are wondering, it will be available Mid April. That came from the Adobe representives discussion.

Mid April. I attened the discussion in question at The Apple Store here in Columbus. I dont use Mac but the company I work for does. I can easily convert the differences in the commands over to PC from the Mac demo I attended.

THe coolest one I saw was the automation of file directories into slideshows w/HTML encodings.

the automation of renaming your files in the directory in an ordered manner that you can customize was nice as well. Although that may currently be available in other Adobe products. You can also set a Win/Mac/Linux switch so that filenames will conform to those systems.

There was some improvements on the "rubber stamp" tool.

easier ways to change the attributes of your brush as well as more ways.

There was also included although the rep indicated it was in PS 6 the ability to subgroup your layers.

All in all I was very impressed. I went with one of our shop graphic artists and with all my ooohhhing and ahhhhiiing as the guy was talking she looked at me and told me to clean myself up.

I was suitably impressed. Now to get a copy other than PS 4 that I have now. hehehe And learn how to use it better.
