Team BBT Badges? – 4084 days old

Hey everyone...PC911 has what I think is a very good idea of congratulating their members for their hard efforts at the UD project. What they have designed are little UD Badges for different levels of points that each member obtains. When the member obtains a new level, they get a new badge to proudly display it in their sig or avatar if so desired.

I thought this is a great idea. Do you all think so? I was thinking we could have a similar badge for our Team but maybe do it by results, since that's what we primarly track by. Your inputs and ideas are appreciated. I would like to have this completed one way or another by this week sometime so please vote!

Attached is a sample of 911's badges...I asked them if we could do something similar and they said no problem

I was thinking the milestones for our team to be:

1000
2000
3000
4000
5000
etc...

Although we're never gonna see eye to eye on this points vs. results thing are we?

To me, it's the time spent (points) not the results that count. But there we agree to differ.

I mean, for the last month or so average time to get a result was 12 hours, yet lately with my four machines I been getting, like, 14 results a day, all little tiddlers.

I won't labour the point If it's results, then it's results.

I like the idea of the badges, anything that stimulates interest gotta be good. You have my vote.

Hmmmm....I see even some of your people prefer points. Not to start something again but you know the main reason I stick with points if no other is that UD itself feels that is the best barometer of contribution. Realistically it doesn't matter a whit what we do as long as UD gets crunchers but then again if everyone is using the same method does that not in the end turn out to be totally equal?

I have run my rig without enhancing mods or trying to manipulate UD performance in any manner and yet all the statistics jump around. I was a daily 6-8 result a day contributor and now all of a sudden there's a few 20 result days on the same rig so it would seem to me that all the ways of measuring success are a bit flawed.

In any case to get back to the topic at hand I do believe that anything that keeps attention focused on UD is a good thing and badges make team members feel like more a part of the team. JM2C

Thanks for the compliments Spezi...I never check my points but the millionth digits stuck out today when I looked at the stats. And nooooo.....not this points and results debate again. And you guys are right...the badges should reward effort and that's what points attempts to do...so datz why we gonna have badges for both stats

hehe well I am better at destroying computers than drawing....I can't do nothing. even a simple oval with color, mabey the same color like say a red oval for 4Kresults or 500,000 points, but in the red oval have either P for points or R for results. Hmm I will think of a way, need to get some sleep and hook a few more computers up
