Hmmm... looks pretty fruity to me. Yeah man, fits you just about perfect. And dishing out 50 bucks for a bunch of cables is not cheap at all. You're one loaded bastard.

    Changed my mind:

    1 Copper Floppy
    2 Copper IDE - CD's
    2 Silver IDE - HD's

Word man...these cables add up...bastards. Well, new cables mean I can donate my grey/white rounded cables to the Team BBT contest.

Damn - I just lay awake at night, torn in my decision as to whether I should go for copper or silver colour braided cables!!!

Seriously, I need to get some, although my ribbons are neatly secured, they are still blocking flow - they are getting cheaper in UK too now as they become more widely available.... me feels a purchase coming on....

Hehe Tek these puppies look even sweeter then the pictures. Like Katz told me, I can't mod but I sure know how to color coordinate

Only gripe I have is I wish they made the jacket by the connector opaque so it doesn't show the yoplait fruity wires. Back to KD they go tomorrow grr...

Just curious guys,I have read several articles, and been told by those that are supposed to know, that the rounded cables are not good to use. From what I read, it mentioned that they have nothing inside separating the wire,as does the flat cables.Anyone else heard this,or is it all a bunch of BS?? Thanks

Hmmmm, when I've worked with multicore cables, they look just like them copper & silver braided cables when I strip the outer sheath off. So that's what they remind me of and sorry, me no like. I prefer the coloured ones.

Tech: www.ebuyer.com has some cheap rounded cables, about £3.00 & £4.00 each for the floppy and IDE cables respectively. I'm gonna order a couple just to see what they're like.

Do any UK folk know a supplier that does single ended rounded cables? I've tried the usual suspects but all they stock is the triple plugged version. I really want 4 x single ended cables, one for each HDD and one each for the DVD & CDRW drives.

Tuff: Can't comment really, I've never used rounded cables, but lots of peeps on this Forum have and they seem happy with them.

Sir Mixalot: Do you possess such a thing as a measuring tape?

Are you talking about the grounded wire between each signal wire Tuffie? I can't recall the articles which said they are ok but I've been using rounded cables for about a year now with no data integrity issues - mind u these are the professional rounded cables not the ghetto do-it youself razor blade mod.

I would stay away from long rounded cables 24" or greater...I do believe the ATA specs call for nothing greater then 24"?

And yes I got me a tape measure Bojiggies, still in its orginal package Actually I don't know why I ordered the 12" variety - it was late at night order with no brain cells left.

Had to do some digging for this one, it's from last year, quite a discussion on rounded cables, check it out.

Thanks Zammy for finding the post .I know what you mean IA about the cheapo deals,so maybe that is where I read the articles. If I recall I read for the ATA 100 the max is 18 inches. It was about the loss of data that I heard and read,I'm sure the more expensive one's have taken all that in consideration. Thanks all

They arrived today and I gotta say I'm not impressed with them at all. They work OK but they look crap. The sheaths at each end of the cable slide on the rounded section so they don't stay in place and all the inner cables are exposed.

Damn, I was getting better airflow wrapping up my flat ribbon cables, so I put those back.

I'm still looking for a UK supplier of quality single ended (no middle connector) IDE & floppy cables.

Actually Skamp, what you just said woke me up with a jolt! I don't actually need rounded cables, I gotta good airflow with everything tucked up to the top of the case with cable ties. It don't look too bad either. And no, I don't have a window and the case side is on all the time.

But, you know what it's like when you suddenly get an urge that you just gotta have something? I was like that.

You is right. I don't need 'em, think I'll treat myself to something else instead, like maybe a coupla 6-packs

Hey I don't have a window but I still buy them cuz they look nice when I have to work on my rig. And they look much nicer then home made rounded eletrical tape versions!

Have to admit, they look good Perhaps treat yourself to a pack of small cable ties and take care of all those small cables?

Why is it when I look at the sound proofing at the bottom of the cage I'm reminded of the disposable lining for a birdcage?

I always had a concern with this issue and rounded cables. Because of the way HD controllers work, you may not notice bad data transfers. They keep on sending the data until the check sum come back correct. The data is ok but the speed drops. Anyway to make a short story long, a user on another forum ran some benchmarks test with the round and flat cables. Turns out there was no difference in the cables.

The boots are slidable but they don't slide very easily. I would venture to say the ones Flops are talking about aren't as HQ as the ones I got. These things are really well done!

    You want more pictures bro?
