Athlon 2100+MP VS 2.4 XEON – 3989 days old

AnandTech has a very interesting article about the 2100 MP vs the Xeon 2.4. The athlon fairs better than I though even though the chip only has 256 megs of cache. What will be interesting is when the norwood 533 FSB Xeon chips get released, and how they will fair against the barton (512 meg cache MP athlon). AnandTech used a interesting tests, using database tests with different speed chips.
My only complaint is that I feel that AMD is putting to many eggs in the hammer basket, there is a hype that might be to big to fill. only time will tell.

That's a good read CC, it remains to be seen if AMD can actually deliver the goods as scheduled. Let's hope the Hammer lives up to the hype.
