    Wierd UD

Since others have questioned the strangeness of UD, I thought I would too.

Doesn't it seem odd that we are crunching numbers to resolve an answer, but the fact is that we are crunching 140+K of data and resolving it to 1+M of data. Now it would seem counterintutiative that if we were really processing data that the results would result in less data to be examined rather than more.

Anyway, I continue to crunch my 143K of data into 1Meg of data. Though expand might be a better term.

    I'm just really baffled.
The only thing better than playing the game, is talking about it.

hmmm...never thought about that one but here goes:

maybe its the way the data results get calcualted into what ever format the scientists need to sort through. i mean more ways of looking at the data is beneficial right? maybe UD does all the leg work on the data types being returned and the scientists can then run their statistical regression analysis.

just poking in the dark though...i think i did read somewhere that the LignFit applicatio increased the size of the data file being returned and UD was looking for a way to bring it down to save on bandwidth.
