    Tmod's BiosMod Utility V2

"UPDATED YET AGAIN" ADDED HIGHPOINT 2.32 BIOS.

    "UPDATED VERSION"
YOU CAN USE THIS UTILITY FOR EITHER AWARD OR AMI BIOS'S (MODDING OR FLASHING)
This utility has been updated with a little different interface regarding the menu's.
Each bios utility has it's own directory as well as menu for the modding process for example it contains 3 different directory's "Ami,Award,Cbrom" and each directory has it's owm menu for that directory within it. I have included a feature that was asked for and that is being able to return to the menu from the command prompt at any time by typing "menu" at the prompt. I have also changed the Ram Disk program so that I could assign a drive letter. When you type in the filename keep in mind that you do NOT have to type in the extension as I have assigned .bin for the Award bios and .rom for the Ami bios.

This utility was created to help solve the problem of the WinXP, 2000 or NT owner with a NTFS partition not being able to mod their bios's under the OS conditions. I have found out recently that WinXP and Modbin do not get along even under FAT32 and the command prompt so this will help in that situation too.

This utility is pretty straight forward in regards to using it. If you can type a number you can use this utility. So without further delay lets mod a bios. For the Examples I will be using (KT7_64) as the bios name.

The first thing you need to do is extract the zipped file that contains the proper files for this utility. Once extracted you will have a file called Biosmod.exe, Just execute this program and it will ask you to place a floppy into the floppy drive and hit OK. This process will then format your floppy and place all the needed files on it. Once that is done you now have a floppy that is a boot disk. Place the floppy into the drive if you took it out and reboot the computer. The utility will now extract itself to a Ram disk(Uses your memory as a hard drive). You will be greeted with a menu that you will select what you want to do.

*Place your bios file(s) that you want to mod on a floppy and place it in the floppy drive.*

    (CBROM)

Now select which utility you want to use (0 Cbrom)(1 Modbin,Awdflash)(2 Amibcp75,Amiflash).

By selecting a number 0-2 it will go to another menu that pertains to that set of utility's.

Lets add the HPT bios 2.31 to the bios using Cbrom.

At the command prompt type 0 +ENTER this will take you to the Cbrom menu.

    K:\0 + Enter

Now we need to copy the file(s) from the floppy to this directory for modding.

    K:\Cbrom>9 KT7_64 + ENTER

Now we need to perform the actual mod.

    K:\Cbrom>7 KT7_64 + ENTER

Cbrom will now add the HPT 2.31 bios to the bios file. If this is all you want to do then save the file back to the floppy using the 10 + ENTER

    K:\Cbrom>10 KT7_64 + ENTER

Lets change the EPA logo using Cbrom / We will add Calvin to this bios file.

Now select which utility you want to use (0 Cbrom)(1 Modbin,Awdflash)(2 Amibcp75,Amiflash).

By selecting a number 0-2 it will go to another menu that pertains to that set of utility's.

At the command prompt type 0 +ENTER this will take you to the Cbrom menu.

    K:\0 + Enter

Now we need to copy the file(s) from the floppy to this directory for modding.

    K:\Cbrom>9 KT7_64 + ENTER

Now we need to perform the actual EPA logo mod.

    K:\Cbrom>2a KT7_64 + ENTER

Now you should have seen it add the new EPA logo to the bios. If this is all you want to do then save the file back to the floppy using 10 + ENTER at the prompt.

    K:\Cbrom>10 KT7_64 + ENTER

NOTE: Now remember that there are different EPA logo's for different bios's so check the EPA Readme by typing 12 at the prompt.

Lets add a ISA rom file to the bios using Cbrom.

Now we need to perform the actual ISA mod.

    K:\Cbrom>8b KT7_64 (Filename) + ENTER

Now you should have seen it add the new ISA bin to the bios. If this is all you want to do then save the file back to the floppy using 10 + ENTER at the prompt.

    (MODBIN)

Now select which utility you want to use (0 Cbrom)(1 Modbin,Awdflash)(2 Amibcp75,Amiflash).

By selecting a number 0-2 it will go to another menu that pertains to that set of utility's.

At the command prompt just type 1 and and you will see the menu for Modbin as well as Awdflash

    K:\1 + Enter

Now we need to copy the file(s) from the floppy to this directory for modding.

    K:\Award>2 KT7_64 + ENTER

To select Modbin at the command prompt just type 0 + ENTER

    K:\Award>0 + ENTER

Select which file you want to mod from the list and perform the mods. If this is all you want to do then save the file back to the floppy using 3 + ENTER at the prompt.

    K:\Award>3 KT7_64 + ENTER

    (AMIBCP75)

Now select which utility you want to use (0 Cbrom)(1 Modbin,Awdflash)(2 Amibcp75,Amiflash).

By selecting a number 0-2 it will go to another menu that pertains to that set of utility's.

Ok so now you want to change the Bios modules or toggle some options, No problem here is what you do.

At the command prompt just type 2 and and you will see the menu for Amibcp75 as well as Amiflash

    K:\2 + Enter

Now we need to copy the file(s) from the floppy to this directory for modding.

    K:\Ami>2 (Filename) + ENTER

To select Amibcp75 at the command prompt just type 0 + ENTER

    K:\Ami>0 + ENTER

NOTE: You will have to type in the name of the "rom" file that you want to mod at Amibcp75's prompt. If this is all you want to do then save the file back to the floppy using 3 + ENTER at the prompt.

    K:\Ami>3 (Filename) + ENTER

OK so we made all of our mods and we are ready to flash the bios, Once again no problem, Here is what we do.

    (AWARD)

Now select which utility you want to use (0 Cbrom)(1 Modbin,Awdflash)(2 Amibcp75,Amiflash).

By selecting a number 0-2 it will go to another menu that pertains to that set of utility's.

At the command prompt just type 1 and and you will see the menu for Modbin as well as Awdflash.

    K:\1 + Enter

We are going to flash the file KT7_64.bin so here is what we do.

    K:\Award>1 KT7_64

That will start the flashing process. You are on your own from here! If you want to use switches then just use something like this command K:\Award>1 /f /sn /cc KT7_64.bin

NOTE: If you want to flash a bios that you modded in Cbrom use #4 in the Award menu to copy
the file from Cbrom directory to the Award directory. You must specify the file name!

    (AMI)

Now select which utility you want to use (0 Cbrom)(1 Modbin,Awdflash)(2 Amibcp75,Amiflash).

At the command prompt just type 2 and and you will see the menu for Amibcp as well as Amiflash.

    K:\1 + Enter

Thanks Tmod, I'll give it a whirl soon. This should be very useful since I stopped modding on my xp machines and had to use my w98 pc.

I almost forgot, Ahhh I did forget but I just remembered. I have a couple of EPA images in this, If you want something different let me know or if you have the batch file scene down you will know what needs to be done to put your own EPA in it.
