    Endit ALL 2

This is just a quick FYI.

I've been using Endit All 1 on my Win98 SE system for a long time now. Recently, while using it on my W2K partition, i began to have some blue screens. This is despite the websites' claim that it will work on all win9.x /W2K systems.

So i decided to upgrade and installed End It All 2 on both my Win98 SE and W2K and began to have to problems with it on my Win98 -- mostly hang-ups & freezes. So I uninstalled it and instead put version 1 back on my Win98 SE.

The conclusion is that while the 2nd version seems to work smoothly on W2K systems, stick with version 1 if you are a Win98 user. JMHO.

I guess it all depends on the system. I still use the first version on my W2K systems, and I haven't had a problem at all. I tried v 2, but did not like it.

    Interesting, Tushman.

    I have v1 on XP without a problem. Didn't know about v2.

I think it strange that the next generation should create a problem. Even though the systems are of two different file systems.

I mean, the app is meant to close other apps that are running within the systems. ?????

But then, programing is not my forte either!

I'll tell ya the one thing I do like about the 2nd version is that it gives you the choice of either "closing" or "killing" the application or service. So if the app in quesiton doesn't have a close feature, you can use Endit to "kill" it.

Provided you feel comfortable killing whatever windows service is running in the background, it's fine. Whatever process that Endit doesn't "close" out - I simply let those be and start my defrag process. (I think perhaps the freezes in Win98 were because I was killing off too many apps in the background).
