    HitBox Free Tools

If anybody here uses Spybot Search & Destroy, you probably see that tracking cookies loaded by HitBox and Avenue A frequently show up in the list of spyware found. I went to the HitBox website and checked them out to see if there was anything worthwhile and free on their site, and it turns out they actually do have some free services that I find useful, and some of you might also. Their Free Tools section includes HitBox Doctor, which lets you enter in your sites URL and it will check broken links, HTML syntax, spelling, load time, and Meta tags. It has image reducer, which will let you reduce the file size of your images to improve your load times.

Just for curiosity I typed in www.bitbendertech.net into the "Doctor" and it received a summary ranking of "Fair". It showed one broken link, http://www.bitbendertech.net/images/...ckground_1.gif , unfortunately this is limited to only the 1st fifty links on your page, which is silly for Bit's page, since it has hundreds of links on it. It showed a slow load time, 52 seconds on dialup, I timed it and it actually took 56 seconds on mine, pretty close.

Hitbox free tools is available here:

It is harder and harder to make a case to a weary and dismayed population that the Western way of life as managed by the Anglosphere ought to be spread around the world at the point of a gun.

In addition to the SpyBot app., I have been using WinPatrol (http://www.winpatrol.com/) from BillP Studios, for several years and it saved me a lot of trouble from having unwanted cookies being placed on my PC.

    It's FREE!

There is also the "industrial strength" version that goes of just $12.95 (US) bucks. (BTW, I've donated to the cause long before there was a second optional app.)

One of the options with WinPatrol is whether or not to add / delete a cookie OR place a referrence in the "NUTS" folder. By placing the referrence in that folder, I am no longer subjected to further cookie placement on my system. It takes a little effort on my part, but the nagging stops.

I love this app because it identifies ALL cookies and offers YOU the option of how to handle cookies. And just because you say no one time does not mean that you want to do so forever (ie: sites regularly visited that require a login).
