Priced @ $39.99 w/o Fan. Last check, they only have 50 in stock.

Tempting, but I'll order it from 2cooltek, who has a shipment coming in this Friday.

That's $14 cheaper than a bare Swiftech. Now the price war begins :big gun:

Will await DK's report before buying, I have a 6035/ystech combo right now & it's great. The Alpha was one of the first ones out to do a really good job of cooling AMD, I hope this one is the same way.

Awww c'mon compadre....surely you can send a review sample to poor old IA

Can't wait to see your review bud You know me and my procrastination on reviews...maybe I should go back to writing my 4-way HSF

That's gonna become as old as you posting your picture

Oh yeah, the pic! Gotta get crackin' on that. :p

Unfortunately, I think I committed a major Hardware-reviewer's "Don't" by requesting the same product from two different resellers without getting clear confirmation by either. Now I have two different people sending me the PAL6035 so I'm going to have to fork over $10+ on shipping to send it back to them. Oh well, live and learn.

What? Are you nuts? Send me the damn HSF, I want it. Wait, how much do you want it.... Oh.... I got what you're saying. NM. Well, giddy yup on the review, I want to get my hands on that bad ass moflicker. I hope it beats the crap outta SK6. Unfortunately, stats by Overclockers tell otherwise.

Looking forward to that review Should be interesting.

Looking forward even more to PAL8045 being on sale in UK

IA: Yep, whatever did happen to that review of yours? Time you finish it, they'll each have been superceded at least twice by something else :p

By the time he's finished he could title the review: "High Performance Coolers of Years Past"

Well, looks like coolerguys.com has the best PAL8045 fan option. However, there are no stats on Mechatronic 80mm 53 CFM.

Rando: Yup, that's the roundup I was referring to. The reviewer used the stock low power fan on the PAL8045 and high power noisy as hell Delta 80mm on the rest of the fan, thus leaving the PAL8045 in the middle. Hell, if they put a Delta 80mm on the PAL8045, it would be on top.

Man, forget the 80mm and just get a 92mm fan and use springs to hold it in place...best thing I ever did....thanks to 0-60 and Rando!

I'm using the 80mm Mechatronics fan right now. It's rated at 53CFM and 35dBA. Very nice fan.

Ams, he did use the Delta 80mm screamer in his review of the prototype here http://www.overclockers.com/articles454/ But your right, he should have included it in the results.

Im using the 92mm Panaflo M1A bro...screw 80mm Just use spring clips to hold the fan in place and get more cooling for same noise, or same cooling for much less noise

The shroud may get in the way of the spring clip mods but not needed anyway!

I do have a 80mm Panaflo U1A lying around also as backup.

Hmmm.... Don't know if there's room in my case to accommodate a 90mm. Currently have a 80mm installed, and it's mms away from the edge of case. But you happen to have a pic of your 90mm mod? I wanna see DK and your review plus the mod first. Total price I'm getting is $55.60 shippedd for the combo.

Is it really worth the 1 degree difference from the Swifty to switch over to the Alpha?

Sorry to be the anti-Alpha here, but I'll wait until the new-improved MC462 comes out with spiral pins, then we'll see who's boss .

Its worth it for me to say...

We got an Alpha and You Don't, 0-60!!!

Why u gotta be player hatin' mah alpha

In all likelihood, u be right...the performance will be on par with the Swifty but u know IA and Alpha. And oh, BTW, when Swiftech comes out with their Helicod Pins on the 462...I'll buy Alpha's 80mm PEP and OWN you all

You see...Rando and Stone has seen the LIGHT

Hey Stone, your baby should ship SAME DAY from SVC and arrive in 2-3 days! As for that Sanyo Fan, not sure where to find it selling yet...i saw that fan in a cooling article but it made no reference to where it could be bought (it was a UK article).

If you can't find it, the next best thing would be the Mechatronics 53cfm, 35dBA that you can find at CoolerGuys.

I hope the Alpha can hold it's weight in aluminum. We shall see. Of the two early "reviews" that I have read on it from ClubOC and [H]ardOCP they show it just barely coming out on top. If it does in fact beat my Swify, then I guess I'll be left with big paper-weight on my hands.

IA, I saw the Mechatronic at coolerguys, but they don't sell it seperately... Wait, I found it, but it's hella loud.

    53 CFM of Air
    5.76 Watts / 12Volt

That's odd. It's supposed to be rated at 35dBA. That's how loud mine is. I think.

Oops looks like it isn't 35dBA

I know Rando and DK have the Mechatronics so maybe they can chime in with the noise level. I was using a Panaflo U1A 48cfm from Millisec, 38dBA, at the time and it wasn't that loud although you could make out the noise. In my case, that's because all my other fans were 120mm 30dBA, so the U1A would have stood out. I can say the sound is nothing like the Delta 38cfm and even quieter (to me) then a 60mm YS Tech since the rpm is not as fast so the whine is cut down.

Looks like that Sanyo-Denki I posted is the one to find if you can!

Or of course, just go the 92mm route - how does 48cfm and 30dbA sound to you courtesy of a Panaflo M1A Heck you can even get a Panaflo H1A at 56cfm and 35dBA! The spring clip mod works fine on the swiftech and I'm sure it will work on the Alpha...I'll let you know my results once it comes in!

The Mechatronics is 39dBA, the idea was to have a few extra cfm with about the same noise as the panaflo U1A, but it looks like the SD has them both beat
