In November, Cooler Master displayed their new, all copper cooler, featuring heat pipe technology at Comdex in Las Vegas. It became one of the instant hits of the show, raising many eyebrows and as many questions. Was it functional, what's in the heat pipes, would it cool a hot Athlon, is it just a gimmick, etc., etc.

ipkonfig has finally done a review and you can read about it here. It seems to do an excellent job for $40 including a fan.

Pretty neat looking HS, Zammy. Too bad its 60mm I don't understand why more manufacturers start moving towards 80mm. I won't ever buy another HS which uses 60mm fans which require super loud fans to work effectively.

    Reviving an old thread.

I just bought one of these and should have it by mid week.

I'm hoping it will fit on my MSI KT3V mobo. with the Pali.

So far I've always bought hsf's for their low decibel rating as well as cooling capabilites, but I dl'ed a sound file of this fan and that thing sounds like a Hoover.
    Yikes!

Anybody else ever use one of these?

I have one of those, but it is clipped onto a 2000 that is in a K5S7A. I was frustrated w only being able to run the chip at 100MHz FSB ( hate that &*^%$# board ), so I ripped it out, an replaced it w an 8RDA+. More than happy with the replacement.

The HSF did seem to have a different sound to it, higher pitched, faster. I'm used to 80mm Fans, or even 92mm fans on HSs. That cooler seemed to perform ok, not great, on that 2000+. Kinda surprised me a bit, cause that 2000 wasn't even overclocked, yet the system was a fairly warm one.

I've used this heatsink in a coupe of builds now. It's fairly good for the price but it can be a bit loud. Also with some cases & mobo combos the retention clip can foul on the case or psu due to size of the thumb tab on the clip which means you have to bend it slighlty. All in all not a bad heatsink imo.

I have one sitting on my shelf, along with a Taisol heatpipe - getting ready to do a little comparison testing as soon as my 80-60mm adapters come in a few days . . .

Let us know how you like it

    Woot! It just arrived!
I bought this from Leonardo, and it looks brand new, never been touched.

Fed Ex delivered my vid card today too, and I have tower #6 up and crunching, although it still has the smaller hsf in it for now.

Here's a pic of the heapipe and it's fan side by side with another CoolerMaster sink I have.

    Very nice pic, LP. Gorgeous.

Shouldn't lay HS on the business side, might scratch. Guess maybe the new one still has plastic on bottom yet, but still...

    Sorry, I'm anal.

Not like IA is though. ( Got to make that perfectly clear! )

    You _are_ anal.

Pretty soon you will have me lapping the heatsinks.
