I just been offered one for £12.00 (about $8.00). I was thinking of using it for my daughter's MSIKT7 Turbo / 750 Duron rig.

Anybody had any experience of this cooler? It comes with the stock 60mm fan. I'm wondering whether it's noisy.

I'm using a Silverado with 1 x 80mm exhaust fan atm, they're both quiet, getting 41C running UD.

In fact, is it worth changing?

knee-jerk reaction is NO change. your getting respectable temps with it as it stands under full load. For a system that isnt pushed or OC'd I would say dont mess with a good thing.

Unless you have all kinds of time to kill and dont care to do the testing to see if it is indeed a better deal.

Yup, you're probably right. You know how it is though, sometimes just get to wanting to make a change.

Just needed somebody to bounce off for an opinion.

    Think I'll pass. Thanks

I purchased a TE when they first came out and at the time was quite impressed with it... The standard fan inst noisy. You can hear it but it aint anything to worry about...

My only problem is installing it. Because of the design it tends to rock slightly, so unless you get it square to start with you could chip the core..

Currently my TE is on a P3 733 system and is doing a grand job

You know ever since TE came out with that desing, many HSF copy it. Its a pretty neat idea although I don't like its clippig mechanism for sure.

Im still waiting for something to beat the Alpha 8045 for overall value and noise.
