Yes, you just need to get a crossover cable. Make sure it says crossover on the package.

Note: It's possible to have a fairly long non-crossover cable, and join it to a fairly short crossover cable using a connector with two female ends. Simply having the crossover cable in between takes care of it. So don't think you have to buy a 50 foot crossover cable or anything.

You can use a regular cable, but you would need to cut it and switch 4 wires then reconnect and cover it.
Or if you have a spare wall plate with 2 RJ45 jacks you could cross the wires in back and use it to join 2 regular cables.
Less trouble to go buy one.

    Well, check here

    http://www.homenethelp.com/web/expla...-crossover.asp

but imo it ain't gonna happen. Just bite the bullet and buy it, or if you give me the length you need I can probably make you up one and ship it to you. The reason is you need the new connector, and the crimp tool, which is expensive as hell. So unless you're into making patch cables for a large network, it's cheaper just to buy it . . .
It is harder and harder to make a case to a weary and dismayed population that the Western way of life as managed by the Anglosphere ought to be spread around the world at the point of a gun.

it appears case had the same idea I did. I can make the cable for ya and ship it to ya. I have literally thousands of feet of Cat5e and Cat6 cable I can make ya the size ya need as a crossover cable and mail it to ya.

However ya want to do it. It may be just as easy to go down to your local comp store and buy it.

And Bits, there orange round here as well.
