    What Brand of Power Supply?

A High-Quality PSU is crucial to a stable system and even more important for those who like to overclock.

Simple question, what brand of power supply do your prefer?

I like Sparkle Power Supplies and have been using their 400W model for over 2 years now and going strong.

My only gripe is the lack of a second fan to suck the hot air from the CPU and somewhat noisy Nidec Fan. Took that out and replaced it with the Panaflo L1A.

The Zalman PSU is intriguing to me since i love silence.

One of these days I will buy a PC&C PSU and be done with.

Many Antecs here. I prefer the TP 430 ( have at least 4 ).

Also have a couple of Enermax.

    Personally I use Enermax.

For system builds to “Joe Public” I use whatever’s in the cases I buy, however, that usually means a 350/400 PSU.

I'm currently using the Low noise dual fan Q-tec 550WATT PSU.

Very quiet and cost's next to nothing. It doesnt have the ratings of other 'quality' PSU's but has more than enough to overclock etc.

I've got both Antecs and TTGI's. I'm very impressed with the TTGI performance at a much sweeter price than the Antecs. Granted...I'm running Intel.

    Antec. Truepower. Me like.

I'd use Enermax, and, after IA got a woody on about the one he owns, I'd chance buying Sparkle as well.

    atm using 1 x Antec 380W Truepower; 1 x Antec 'ordinary' 300W and 1 x 'I haven't got a clue who made it but it works OK' 300W.

My current setup uses a Liteon and has been very faithful, but I'm leaning toward an Antec for the next round of upgrades

    I had a generic and a Antec TP430. I kept dropping volts with the 300w generic (yes, I was o/c )
No probs or hiccups with the Antec...plus quieter too

this looks like an antec/enermax community

i wish antec made their PSU's in shiny chrome instead of flat aluminum, or maybe they have changed.

    Here's a nice review of TTGI's new 520SS unit with 4 fans... http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/r...QuadFan_1.html

IA's request for an Antec has already been answered by TTGI(made by the same manufacturer, CWT, as the Antecs). They make 'em in chrome, black, red, and gold in both 420 and 520 watt variants.

dayem 4 fans - that's a bit overkill in my book. i heard antec made a new one called TruControl where you can tweak the +3, +5, +12V settings from the front of your case, pretty sweet!

I have no opinion - I use whatever I can lay my hands on - never had a problem with 'em yet . . .
It is harder and harder to make a case to a weary and dismayed population that the Western way of life as managed by the Anglosphere ought to be spread around the world at the point of a gun.

Well, so far whatever comes in the generic case I buy.
Usually I don't mailorder cases, I go to a show, find the style that catches my eye, then get it in the wattage I want. Usually, they
are pc tech psu's, and run fine, last a long time.

Maybe I'm lucky. but I always go for an ample supply size. if it calls for a 300w, I usually get a 350w, etc.
on the rare times I need to get a psu for someone, I look at
either the generics or a sparkle psu, and the sparkle only cause our power engineers like em for their design and costs.

I have a 420w TTGi right now and I am very very happy with it. Only cost me $68 too
There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Both my psu's are enermax, one delivers really stable power the other is a piece of sh!t though both are are very quiet. On both I've had dodgy connectors that require me to go at them with tweezers to get a a good connection. I wont use Enermax again
