    Finally Built My New Computer!

    I finally built my new computer! It's been two years since I started gathering components, but "real life" got in the way. Anyway, I ordered the last few components in anticipation of my brother visiting; figure I'd lean on him for tech support, if needed. Turned out to be not too hard at all. We put it together yesterday. Woohoo, going from a 500 MHz machine to almost 2200 MHz is quite a difference! I'm happy.

    Used:

    Kingwin Aluminum case
    Antec True Power 430 PSU
    Epox 8RDA3+ motherboard
    XP2700+
    Corsair XMS PC3200 - 2 x 256
    WD 40GB HDD
    Pioneer DVD-ROM drive
    Lite-On 52 CD/CD-RW
    Floppy drive ( that doesn't work!! )
    Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard
    GF2 MX 400 VGA
    Vantec rounded cables

    Why yes it is a thermalright slk-800,my brother sent it to me for my birthday 2 yrs ago. Finally got a chance to use it, it's topped with a 50CFM Sunon fan.

    Here it is in my setup; it's the one on the desk, my old, slow ass Dell sit's on the floor down below { at the speedster's feet! }

    We have it all up and running now. I only have one monitor so I got a KVM switch and, if need be, I can get on my old puter at the flick of a key.

    However, Scott showed me how to map all my drives from the old puter so I can access them freely on my new. That works much better. Very sweet!
