NASA Create's "Mind Reading" System – 3367 days old

NASA has successfully created a program that can interpret nerve signals and patterns of speech without the words being spoken. So far this new technology has accomplished a simple web search and is still under
development.

Through the use of button sized sensors underneath the chin and on top of the Adam's apple, a program can interpret unspoken words through neurological messages. The current testing is in a preliminary stage.

Other possibilities for this technology include speech for the mute, being able to talk to others without being overheard, and as mentioned above web searches without having to touch a computer.

Seriously, it sounds like a great step forward for those disabled with speaking problems. My grandmother happens to be one of them.. Had her voice box removed in the 1970's due to cancer... She can still speak by trapping air in her stomach and releasing it, but it's very quiet and kinda hard to understand her.
