    Smile The Linux Desktop Thread

Post your linux desktop snapshots here.

This is my mandrake 10.0 desktop.
It's installed on my obsolete 1999 abit BP6 dual 366mhz celeron system.

Many thanks to the artists and developers that contribute to the linux community, it's what makes linux so enjoyable to use.

    BobGuy©

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

It's simplier and easier to get it working than you'd think? Even for someone with plastic hair and no chin?

Google "Linux from scratch", then you will see what Ralph was referring to.

No, minix was just the initial development environment used. See Andrew Tannenbaum's writings:

    http://www.cs.vu.nl/~ast/brown/

It is in fact quite the opposite from what the FUD stooges at the Assholis de Suckville Institute conned you in to believing. Tannenbaum admonished and ridiculed Torvalds for NOT making Linux a microkernel based OS like Minix. Moreover, Minix deliberately was lacking in functionality... it was only ever intended as an educational tool to teach programming concepts.

Get a clue before you spew.

    Very interesting reading G!!!

Funny how a little education from someone who knows the ‘real’ story can change your whole outlook on the subject.
Thanks for the link… read several pages, will most likely read more.
