    Oracle is our NEW CHALLENGE!!

Hey Team Members...just to make it official...

Oracle, run by Larry Ellison, is Team PC's next challenge based on the inputs from the thread posted about our new challenge. (Thanks to Stoner for the suggestion)

    Here are the scumbags
    http://members.ud.com/services/teams...8BDEE&ord=NAME

We have conqured our first challenge and are soundly beating Icrontic (#215 vs #280) - Cmon Binary...make it fun for us again

We have so many members with multiple rigs - its just great to see our massive amount of returns for the small number of members we got!

Stats on Team PC vs. Oracle...as of 10/9 we are in #215 vs. #195 place. We have gained over 10 places in less then a week! We currently avg 209 results/day while they avg 121/day.

When we do pass them, we are gonna pass the #200 place milestone...that's a HUGE achievement! This team was merely started summer of this year and have surpassed a TON of teams who have started much much earlier!

    Go Team PC :big gun:

Well, if I do get the mobo + CPU tomorrow, I'll be running TWO, yes, TWO systems. Kick ass dude. We can do it this month. Nemesis, Cats, Lurch, and a whole bunch of members are loading up the ammunition. We are ready to bust Larry's balls!

Mmmm... I'd try to throw UD on the computers in my office, but I doubt theyd be much help (P 150's - p300).. Kinda scary.. hehehe
Plus the Bossman is pretty weird about that kinda stuff.. Would prolly get PO'd about it.

Although next time I visit the parents, I'll get my mother-in-laws machine on. Its only a 500, but it's a help

Mmm, as soon as my finances settle down, i.e all the big cheuqes fet passed about, i'll see how much money i have for a new system. Probably a 1.4 GHz Athlon4 or whatever is fastest at the time. And since i am going for water cooling, i may just OC the bugger

    Cool

    Yeah - we going places

I haven't got UD working on my two workstations at work yet, pity (coz they are both dual processors models and UD doesn't yet support SMP and they are left on 24/365).

Been too busy recently to sit down and get to the bottom of it. I have configured it to work with the company proxy server, but it's not having it (getting "Can't connect to UD server when registerring the UD agent) - maybe becuast the company proxy uses port 8083 for http - dunno need to sit down and sort - poor excuse but been having a lot of system problems recently which take prority....

Anyway when I do, thats another two for the cause

    Cool Rock and Roll!

Hey hey, we is doing well!

And, guess what? Ta-dum, I just added another K6-2 300 to the cause, so that's 4 machines a-popping

And now the small print. It would help if I could upload the results. I got, like 90 odd hours to upload right now but the frickin' server's down again, Grrrrrrrrrr

Hey Flops, you ought to consider running UD Monitor, I run it on ally my PC's - at the monent all of them are going through the caches, all ready to upload again when the server gets less busy. I have 4 caches on each PC, last's long enough for most outtages.

Tech: I've tried the Monitor, it loads up three or four proteins, but each time it finishes one, it wants to upload before proceeding. If IE5.5 was my default browser, I'd have no probs using the Monitor, I know how to configure it, but I'm using AOL and I haven't sussed how to set it up yet

On the UD monitor 1.60 it has an option to automatically switch to the next cache if an Internet connection wasn't available. You had to tick that option though, surprisingly it wasn't ticked by default. However, I notice that 1.62 which has just come out, (thanks to Rando for advising us it was out) doesn't have that option, maybe Roman has done away with it and it automatically does it.

    May be worth trying again?

I've never used AOL, but would ud monitor still try to connect when you are online, or is the AOL proxy server setup a pain?

    tv: thanks for advice

If I'm online, the UD proggie quietly uploads in the background and I'm unaware it's done that thing.

An equation: (AOL + my brain) = not good to the power of six

I've noted your advice, and I'll check it out. May have to do it in the morning though, I'm on shutdown I think, had a bit of a late day at work coupled with a microphone problem in a school I've never seen the likes of before Giving me severe GBH of the brain

And my daughter's been trying to upload results on all my machines since 5'o'clock, no good at all. Lemme see, it's 11pm now, that's a little, um, disappointing, shall we say.

A sincere thank you for your input, I'll let you know how I get on.

Under Tools--->Browser for IE there will be a checkbox which says always check to see if IE is your default browser. Enable that one and startup IE and if it is not your default browser, it will ask you if you want it to be. See if that helps!
