Windows XP on new builds
Computer outlets sell PC's with the Operating System already installed.
If I was thinking of putting together some 'new builds' with the aim of 'selling them on' (as a legitimate business of course), the cost to buy the individual XP operating systems (retail) would seem to price me out of the market.
Do these suppliers therefore get some sort of reduced price operating system for installing on their 'new' equipment? and if so, would I (or any of us really) be able to also?
Any views at all?
HandyAndy.

You can buy OEM versions which don't cost quite as much as retail, but you won't be getting a big discount unless you're doing large volume like a major manufacturer.
There is also little benefit to buying multiple licenses without media.

Thanks for the response Grogan
Looks almost like a bit of a non-starter when comparing 'build your own' to retail outlet sale.
Still, there's always the pleasure and satisfaction element in doing it yourself.
Cheers,
