    Unexpected power surge and I'm at it again, looking for another modem. Thank goodness for backups.

    The 3Com US Robotics Courier V.Everything 56k modem. Good, bad, ugly? EBay has oodles of them.

    I dunno about that model but I still got an external 3Com US Robotics modem for emergencies in case my Broadband ever goes down.

    A marvellous little box of tricks, cost a lot at the time but I used it for 4 or 5 years solid, never a glitch.

    So I suppose that's a thumbs up for that make of modem, if nothing else
