Most of the other teams I've been on did their milestones at the first 100 pts, then 500 pts, then at 1000 points. After that it was every 1000 points. One team that uses these milestones adds an additional step once you reach 100,000, I think it was every 10,00 points after the first 100,000.
yeah bitches guess who's back
where the hell be everyone else, damn slowpokes get on this team

I like milestones at 1000 pt intervals with special recognition at 5000 pt intervals.
Edit: I also think anyone hitting 100 pt level should lose their fruity award or fruity reference in their avatar.![]()

well....
w00t!
ok, over, out.
ok, got the cl type installed, set as service, seems to be ok as far as impact.
Now I have 2 questions:
1. How can I check the status of the work on any given machine?
Whic files do I look at for how it;s progressing?
2. The only option for w98 is the graphical interface? I have one machine at home that is on 24x7, my ftp server, and that is running w98, as it is actually safer than w2k or xp. But the looks like I will be stuck with the gui install?

ok, hopefully someone will see this before I go home, but I checked the config file, and it didn;t take my username or team info. is is anonymous, and team 0.
Someone had posted some info about not editing the config file, but there wa a utility that fixed it up. Gotta go find that thread, and if it works, we should add that info to the setup thread, as I'm sure others will have this issue.
Did it on 3 machines and they are all wrong.
What's the point of asking the questions on setup if it is just going to throw away the info???????
The setup on the w2k and xp version is a little more reliable I think.
If you want to check progress manually go to the directory with F@H in it and open "unitinfo.txt"
As for Q2. ... sorry, can't help.
Tom it looks like you are stuck with the GUI w/ W98. I haven't seen the thread on that utility, but maybe this will help:
--------------------------------
Console Client Configuration Options
-config
Allows users to change their configuration information. This includes user & team names (reflected in the stats), whether or not to ask before a network connection is made to fetch/send work, set up proxy servers, preferred work unit type (Folding/Genome), process priority, CPU usage requested (5-100%), whether or not to use assembly loops, whether or not to use deadline information, and Machine ID changes.
-configonly
-----------------------------
You'd have to halt the service 1st & then run the exe with that switch. Are you doin stealth installs at work, or do you have free reigh as long as it don't interfere w/ mission critical stuff?
WildMacaw.com
ZemaTalon
Got pretty much a free reign as long as thereis no impact.
I think I figured out why I had no name or team number.
I did the initial install, which leaves it running in a console window.
I closed the window, and then started the service manually from services. That, for some reason wiped out the original config file I created answering the questions.
I got the corrected config file in there now, but I don;t know if the unit it is working on will pick it up.
The unit info still says 0%after about 4 hours, even on the rebooted machines. I suspect something is amiss here, I will check tonite when I come back in. I have to get this sorted for a quick clean never touch it again install....
correction, it is at 2% on the server box, I been working so ti likely didn;t get many cycles here. Might be ok... IF it returns them under my name and our team....
