    Logitech G7 Wireless Laser Mouse

Just wanted to provide a little feedback from my first week of use...

Got a new Logitech G7 wireless mouse, and I absolutely love it. I'm no hardcore gamer, just started taking gaming seriously in January when I got COD2. But I do recognize the need for a decent mouse, with no latency issues, etc. This mouse is designed to kick ass, in high resolution work and in gaming.

If you're looking for a good wireless mouse that will do it all (live resolution switching, with mode indicator, two hot-swap li-ion batteries, quick charger, etc) check it out. The price is a little scary, but if you hunt around you can get a decent price on it, and I've yet to find a wireless mouse that can compete with it. I had a bluetooth mouse before this and frankly, it's not even close...

I know that's not a good review or anything, but just wanted to pass it on. I've talked to a few people in the last week about it and a lot of people said "Hey I wish people would let me know about positive experiences with their periphs more often..." so I figured I'd share here as well.

    Absolutely right on my man.

The G7 is the best mouse I've ever used, by far.

It is a bit pricey but the control it gives is awesome and it knocks the MX1000 into a cocked hat.

I use the G7 on my main machine but as I've mentioned before, the dual core CPU causes freezes on CoD 2.

I have an MX1000 on my other machine, in the bedroom, but after being used to the G7, the MX1000 mouse on it seems a little lacklustre.

So, rather than buying another G7 to play CoD 2 without issues, just to try something different I thought I'd try a corded Boomslang.

And this (link) will be arriving tomorrow.

I'll let y'all know how it performs.

I'm really looking forward to trying this mouse, I've read mixed reactions and reviews to Boomslang mice, now I will see for myself.

Yep, another G7 user here, it kicks ass! set it to 2000dpi and then set up the controls how you like and its all good. I got bash on the back button, 'nades on the middle button and reload on the side scroll leaving my left hand free to move around. Well it works nice for me.

I have a G7 and its by far the best mouse i have used... I think it improved my reaction time and such.

I don't have it fully configured yet but the back button is to cycle weapons. The middle mouse button is to throw the smoke bomb but don't use it much.. might use that for regular nades now. i always leave most of the default settings to what they are. i have grown accustom to the standard controls.

But Boom its is the best thing I bought besides the COre DUO.

Interesting - Boomslang mice!!! Great name! I've never even heard of them until now - looked them up after I read the previous post.

That Razer looks pretty cool too.

Z - you have a Core Duo machine? Mac or PC? You must like it, whatever it is, if it's the best thing you ever bought....

I am not an intel fan, but I gave in and bought the Core DUO. I am an AMD fan but boy do they have a ways to catch up. This machine is very fast and what else can you ask for.

Look for a thread of mine under Hardward Garage or something.. It has all the specs of my computer.

The G7 is definitely an upgrade over the MX-1000. Better performance? You better believe it! Replaceable batteries? Even better!

What drove me nuts about the MX-1000 is you couldn't replace the battery. Once the battery went, you were hosed.

Yea the G7 comes with two battery packs. I was happy to have read that.. That made this mouse a very good buy in itself.

Just went out and got myself one of these.... VERY Nice....

Two batteries and the ability to set separate res for X/Y axis. Super nice features.

Now I'll be all set as long as the battery is fully charged come game time.

As you've woken this thread up I thought I'd mention what I thought of the Razer mouse.

Well, in short - I sold it

I tried really hard, but I just couldn't get on with it. It was actually too sensitive, and if I reduced the sensitivity, it wasn't sensitive enough.

After being used to a cordless mouse, the Razer's cord irritated me, but only a little. The main reason I didn't like it though, was it's shape. What bozo designer puts sharp edges on a mouse?

The side ridge, over long periods of use, dug into the side of my thumb and made using the mouse uncomfortable.

I've had my G7 mouse more than 18 months now, it did suffer some problems, it was giving random actions on me, and apparently this is a common issue with the G7. V_R also suffered those problems but his G7 was under warranty and he got a replacement.

I took mine apart and cleaned it out. There were two small hairs wrapped round the scroll wheel. Removed those and cleaned everything in sight with meths, it's been fine since, about 2 months down the line. There is a thread on this forum somewhere about the repair.

But yes, definitely the best mouse I've ever used

And before the year is out, I will probably own one of these: Logitech G15 keyboard

I was looking at the G5 also while I was at the store... Couldn't bring myself to go back to having a tail on the mouse even tho the G5 is about $20 cheaper.

So G7 it was and so far (last 2 hrs) I've been really happy with it.

Saw one of the G15 keyboards.... Kinda cool

G7 has enough buttons that only the movement/use keys are left in use on my keyboard. Now all I gotta do is remember to use 'em
