I saw Gerry Rafferty perform once, as one half of The Humblebums, the other half was a fella named Billy Connolly.
That was at The Lyceum in London's Strand, supporting Osibisa in 1970. Even then, Connolly was telling loads of jokes in between songs, had yet to find his true vocation.
They were good, a couple of accoustic folkies with a warm presence, as I remember.
All my peers seem to be dying around me, RIP Gerry.
