Paramount Pictures identifies 5 'rogue' cyberlockers that should be shut down – 414 days old

Just months after the shut down of the world's top cyberlocker Megaupload, Paramount Picture's has sent the MPAA and U.S. DOJ a list of 5 "rogue" file-sharing sites that should be shut down next.
The lucky handful are Fileserve, MediaFire, Wupload, Putlocker and Depositfiles.

I use 3 of them all the time. Fileserve, MediaFire, Depositfiles and many of the others have shut down any file downloads out of fear. This is really starting to suck.

I hope this forum was the best place for this post.

I would have gone for the Journal, personally, but I don't think it matters that much in the end.

As for the actual thread, yeah the various industry groups fully blow and should have been dismantled long before corporate greed got this far.

This is an interesting article I just read. It proves a point I often make. Piracy is actually helping Music and Movie business. It's really more like Advertising for them.
People would never have bought all the things they download and often do if they really like something.

French anti-P2P law reduces piracy, but does nothing for music sales

Now, it seems piracy levels have fallen considerably. Music sales are still declining though, so maybe these pirates weren't downloading for the convenience at all. Hadopi only monitors peer-to-peer networks, so it is possible the French pirates have simply set sail for torrents and other illicit methods of acquiring their materials. Hadopi's most recent study had the following to report:
Music and video agencies did not see any real increase in profit compared to 2010 during 2011. Instead, they saw a drop in sales of 3.9% within the recorded music market. The video market did not drop as far, at a decrease of 'only' 2.9%. Revenue for streaming and subscription services increased by 73%, so it seems people are beginning to rely on services like Deezer and Spotify to get their musical fix.
