This is kind of rare, as he's usually the silent type, preferring to work in the background. (My opinion and observation)
I sure hope he can keep Slackware true to its roots, because I really hate some of that new junk that's coming out these days. I like Slackware's easy to follow scripts that tie everything together and the fact that they keep the software in sane configurations, like the developers intend.
Note that in one of the questions, Volkerding says he uses KDE pretty much in its default configuration, like he provides it.
