    Firefox Orange Menu

I installed FF in a Win7 VM to try out a different audio driver that some have said allowed Netflix to run smoothly in a VM. The first thing I noticed was the big orange FF menu. I've seen it before in some beta versions I ran in VM's, but this was the release version, 14.0.1. So it looks like the traditional menu bar is now off by default on new FF installs, and you get the orange menu instead, unless you turn the menu bar back on. Existing installations apparently inherit the menu bar-on setting, so if you've been using and updating FF for some time you might not see it. I didn't like it before, but since then I've been using Chrome and Chromium for probably 70% of my browsing and they use a similar menu. One advantage to it is more avail space in the browser window.

Yeah, it's just a menu, but it stood out like an orange thumb

Yes, it's only been like that since version 4.0. You may not have noticed because you always had a profile, but that's been the default for a long time now. At least it's still easily changed though. (and there's an addon that still works if you want the statusbar back... "Status4Evar" )
