New Phone: Samsung Galaxy S III
My old phone, HTC Incredible, has been going through periods of constant reboot loops that last for hours. I tried everything short of a complete reset, but I'm almost a year out of my contract and therefore elidgable for the upgrade credit. I heard a lot of good things about the Galaxy S III so that's what I have now. I'm with Verizon, but I didn't get it directly from them. I got it from Amazon, and avoided a huge sales tax hit - with my upgrade credit the phone was $150, but the sales tax would be based on the full price of about $650-$700. Plus when you buy direct from Verizon they always slap on a bunch of bogus fees - other people got charged a $35 "upgrade fee", plus other various fees. Plus, doing it this way, I got to keep my unlimited plan. Normally when you get a new phone from them they'll change your plan to one of their new limited plans. But if you already have a phone and are just switching/activating it, they don't change your plan (as long as it's another smartphone). It's a loophole that they'll probably eventually close. I'm also paying a bit less per month, $7, with this phone due to the omission of some service not applicable to this phone. The phone has been great so far, its really quick and the battery life seems pretty good. I haven't had any long phone conversationis on it yet though. This is the phone Apple thought was too much like the iPhone, and it does seem very polished. My old phone I'm going to mess around with - do a reset, then maybe try rooting it.
I got the blue one, like the one in this little video. There's an ad when it starts, which, as it turned out, was for the S3 This guy doing the vid was a little funny too:
I watched the video Zema, I think the guy likes the blue one best, LOL.
